Wow, what an awesome week! I did miss one run this week, but it was still a GREAT week of training. Last week, I mentioned that I was beginning to become a little worried about my training and how much time I had left to train. After this week, I must say, I am totally happy with my training and looking forward to the Chickamauga Battlefield Marathon in November! What makes this week so GREAT? Well, to say the least, I ran a 24 miler on Saturday.
Here are this week's results:
Monday: 7.1 mi/59:46/L1-29:33/L2-30:13/AVG. HR.=142/MAX. HR.=157
Tuesday: 10.3 mi/1:27:13/L1-43:27/L2-43:46/AVG. HR.=146/MAX. HR.-161
Wednesday: Unable to Run
Thursday: 10.2 mi/1:31:10/AVG. HR.=144/MAX. HR.=166 Ran with Stager
Friday: REST
Saturday: 24 mi/3:52:13/AVG. HR.=139/MAX. HR.=148
Sunday: REST
Mileage=51.6
It is very refreshing running a 24 miler. I am not sure if that was a good idea or not, nevertheless, I was able to do it and to do it fairly easy. I will take it easy this upcoming week and hopefully on Saturday do a 3 hour run. I think if I can get one more good 3 hour run in, I can taper and feel pretty good about my next marathon.
Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying their running in this cool weather. Have a GREAT week and KEEP RUNNING!!

Nothing better than a good run! I've been running for over 30 years and find myself enjoying it more every run. Running marathons is a thing of the past for me. I'm extremely proud to have been able to complete 14 marathons. These days, my goals have changed and I have enjoyed running 1 1/2 marathon a month. Woot! Running 3-4 times a week is good enough. Spending time with my wife and kiddos, Juliana(14) and Jessa(13) are priority for me these days. GR8FL!
