December 24-December 30

Wow, what a busy week! I must say it was a bit disappointing only running 2 times this week. However, it was Christmas week, so I can't complain too much. Like I have always said, a little rest never hurt anyone.

Here are this week's results:

Monday: REST
Tuesday: (Christmas Day) REST
Wednesday: REST
Thursday: 5.2 mi/38:16/L1-19:53/L2-18:23
Friday: REST
Saturday: 13.4 mi/1:47:54
Sunday: REST
Mileage: 18.6

I had planned to do a 10 mile run with a friend of mine on Sunday, but due to ALL of the raining in the ATL, it did not happen. Of course, I will not complain about the rain as we have desperately needed it!

Well, as the new year is upon us on Tuesday, I would like to wish everyone a safe and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

KEEP RUNNING!

December 17-December 23

Another week in the books for ol LJ! This week was a good week of training for me. I did happen to miss two days this week, but no biggie. I guess a little rest never hurt anyone.

Here are this week's results:

Monday: REST
Tuesday: 5.2 mi/39:09/L1-19:36/L2-19:33
Wednesday: 10 mi/1:26:48/L1-40:57/L2-45:50
Thursday: REST
Friday: REST
Saturday: 14 mi/2:08:01/L1-1:03/L2-1:05
Sunday: REST
Mileage=29.2

My miles definitely decreased this week due to me missing two days. I had planned on running different mileage on each run this week. I missed the 7.1 mile run on Thursday. Oh well, this week, I am sure to get in a few more miles as I am off work for the next two weeks. I have decided that my next marathon will be the ING Georgia Marathon in March. Until then, I will probably run a few 5/10k's and if I can find one, a half-marathon.

Hope everyone is ready for Christmas and Merry Christmas to all!

KEEP RUNNING!!

December 10-December 16

Well, another great week of training with more productive runs. I did not do as I had originally planned due to being tired at the end of the week. I started the week on Tuesday doing a 10 mile run and was planning to do the same on Wednesday and Thursday, but it did not happen for me on Thursday. I decided to take a break and get in some more rest.

Here are this week's results:

Monday: REST
Tuesday: 10 mi/1:24:08/L1-38:26/L2-45:42
Wednesday: 10 mi/1:26:33/L1-38:50/L2-46:42
Thursday: REST
Friday: REST
Saturday: 16 mi/2:25:11/Ran with friend
Sunday: REST
Mileage=36

As you can see I missed a couple of my runs this week. No biggie. I needed the rest and Saturday's 16 miler was an easy run with some good sprints coming in. This week, I will probably mix up my training runs with different mileage each day.

Hope everyone has had a GREAT week and whew, the lower temperatures are finally here.

KEEP RUNNING and HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL!!!

December 3-December 9

This week has been a rather interesting week of running. Last week I ran 5.2 miles everyday and progressively got faster and faster each run. This week I missed my usual Monday run and ran 7.1 miles the rest of the week and to my surprise, I progressively got faster throughout the week. I guess I can say, I hope the same happens this week.

Here are this week's results:

Monday: Unable to Run
Tuesday: 7.1 mi/57:59/L1-28:51/L2-29:08
Wednesday: 7.1 mi/54:52/L1-27:46/L2-27:05
Thursday: 7.1 mi/54:40/L1-27:23/L2-27:17
Friday: REST
Saturday: 13 mi/1:52:45/Ran with a friend
Sunday: 6 mi/47:35/L1-23:56/L2-23:39
Mileage=40.3

I am definitely beginning to get back to normal on my runs and that is pretty darn exciting. I am rather surprised at how good I am feeling on these runs as well as my recovery. My recovery has been incredible! The soreness and pain that I am accustomed to at times has for some reason disappeared. I would like to believe it is due to the hard training! I am still in search of a race to participate in at the beginning of the year. Hope everyone is enjoying these unseasonable-like temperatures. I can not believe it was 75 degrees today(Sunday) and it is supposed to be in the 70's all week long. UNBELIEVABLE!!

KEEP RUNNING!!

November 26-December 2

This week has been a very good week and surprisingly nice running weather! Each of my runs this week were extremely comfortable and they got progressively faster throughout the week. That is a good thing as my tapering came to an end on Sunday. It is time to get back to some longer miles. I have decided not to run in the Rocket City Marathon this upcoming Saturday. I don't feel quite up to it to be honest with you. I am pondering running the Country Music Marathon with my brother in April of 2008. I would really like to run another marathon in January if I can find one.

Here are this week's results:

Monday: REST
Tuesday: 5.2 mi/43:47/L1-21:24/L2-22:23
Wednesday: 5.2 mi/42:30/L1-21:01/L2-21:28
Thursday: 5.2 mi/30:50/L1-20:13/L2-19:36
Friday: REST
Saturday: 5 mi/52:09/Ran with Allen
Sunday: REST
Mileage=20.6

As you can see I ran 5 miles Tues.-Thurs. and my time progressively got faster. On Thursday, I felt really good and wish that I would have pushed myself a bit more. This week, I will miss Monday's run, but I plan to run much further on each my runs Tues-Thurs.

Hope everyone has a GREAT week of running!
KEEP RUNNING!
