Another ho-hum week for ol LJ. The week started out well as it has the past 3 or 4 weeks. To continue with the previous weeks, the week ended as bad as previous weeks. It turned out that Monday was my only run for the week. I did have a good run on Saturday to finish the week on a good note. Wednesday and Thursday were both washouts with all the rain we got here in the ATL. I don't have much to report this week.
Here are this week's results:
Monday: 7.1 mi/55:27/L1-28:02/L2-27:13 w/5Fartleks
Tuesday: Unable to run
Wednesday: Unable to run
Thursday: Unable to run
Friday: REST
Saturday: 20.5 mi/3:15:33/Ran the ING GA course
Mileage=27.6
It is always comforting when I can get a 20 miler in and feel pretty comfortable doing it. Saturday's run was a good one and I felt great the entire run. I did run with someone and unfortunately, they began to have some ankle/foot problems around 18 miles or so, therefore; we ran a bit slower the last few miles. It was nice running the course that I will be running come March 30. I must say, it was not nearly as bad as what I had heard about the course. It did not seem as hilly and it was a beautiful scenic route. I am planning to run in the mornings this week, so I am hopeful to get a few more miles in this week!
KEEP RUNNING,
LJ
Nothing better than a good run! I've been running for over 30 years and find myself enjoying it more every run. Running marathons is a thing of the past for me. I'm extremely proud to have been able to complete 14 marathons. These days, my goals have changed and I have enjoyed running 1 1/2 marathon a month. Woot! Running 3-4 times a week is good enough. Spending time with my wife and kiddos, Juliana(14) and Jessa(13) are priority for me these days. GR8FL!

February 11-February 17
Whew! What a long week. The week started off pretty good with a nice speed workout on Monday. I skipped Tuesday and Wednesday's run as you will see below. Great run on Thursday as well as Saturday. I struggled a great deal this week, mostly from just being tired. I am very surprised as how great I am feeling on my Saturday long runs. So surprised that I am wondering if I should just continue the amount of rest that I have been getting by skipping one of my longer Tuesday/Thursday runs and just doing one of them. I am obviously getting faster and stronger as you can see from previous runs on Tuesday and Thursdays. My normal 1.5 hour run equates to about 10.2 miles and I am now running over 11 miles in the same time.
Here are this week's results:
Monday: 7.1 mi/55:57/L1-28:02/L2-27:54/5-Fartleks
Tuesday: REST
Wednesday: REST
Thursday: 11.2 mi/1:28:52/L1-44:09/L2-44:42
Friday: REST
Saturday: 18.4 mi/2:50:31/Ran with a couple of friends
Sunday: REST
Mileage=36.7
My Saturday run went really well as it was the same route from the previous week. Also, I ran with a couple of friends and it was definitely a good run. I did not quite run 3 hours and mostly because I was with someone else and they were not really interested in running another 20 minutes or so. I feel pretty good about my training this week and my run on Saturday as I know that I could have easily ran another 30 minutes. This week the weather should be great here and I am hopeful that I will not miss a run. If you want to see my routes from this week, they are the same as last week, so feel free to view the Monday, Thursday and Saturday elevation profiles. Saturday's run was a great workout and I really enjoyed the hills in Buckhead.
Good running to everyone this week!

February 4-February 10
Wow, it feels good to be back on track! This week started out rough by missing Tuesday's run, but the rest of the week I was able to go without missing a run. My Wednesday run was cut short due to having to be somewhere. Also, this week was a week of good running weather. It felt really good not having to put on several layers.
Here are this week's results:
Monday: 7.1 mi/55:00/L1-27:41/L2-27:18
Tuesday: REST
Wednesday: 5.4 mi/42:20/L1-16:56/L2-7:57/L3-17:27/5Fartleks/2Hills
Thursday: 11.2 mi/1:31:36/L1-44:53/L2-46:43/Hill Workout
Friday: REST
Saturday: 17.9 mi/2:42:33/Ran with a friend for 1.5 hours and solo the rest
Sunday: REST
Mileage=41.6
Like I said earlier, I am very happy with my training this past week. I am hoping to get a few more miles in this week and hopefully not miss a run. Saturday's 3 hour run actually turned into a 2:42 and I was about 18 minutes shy of 3 hours. I felt really good throughout this run and there were a whole lot of hills. This to me is very encouraging and as you can see through the elevation charts, I ran a lot of hills this week. It is truly comforting to end the week with a 18 miler and a hilly one at that. The weather should be warmer again this week I believe, so I am sure to not miss a run this week.
Good running this week!

January 28-February 3
Another up and down week for ol LJ. More like a down week than anything as I was able to only get 1 run in this week, but a very good 3 hour run on Saturday.
Here are this week's results:
Monday: Unable to Run
Tuesday: Unable to Run
Wednesday: 7.1 mi/55:49/L1-28:23/L2-27:26/5-Fartleks
Thursday: Unable to Run
Friday: REST
Saturday: 19.1 mi/2:58:24/Ran with a friend
Sunday: REST
Mileage=26.2
Hey, I ran a marathon this week! Well, not in one run, but as you can see, I did it in two runs. This week should have been a better week for me and I had planned to run on Thursday only to come home from work and it was pouring down rain. Saturday's run was very comforting for me in that it was a very good run and I could have gone further and easily eclipsed the 20 mile mark. Nevertheless, a very satisfying run and man, I was even sore after the run. I am hopeful for a better week this week with the opportunity to get in a few more runs. I do know that rain is in the forecast, which if it is cold will definitely make it tough for me when trying to decide to go for a run.
Hope everyone had a much better running week than I did. Happy February as January has surpassed already and hopefully Spring is around the corner.
KEEP RUNNING!!!
