Well, not a bad week of training! I am finally done with school and free for the summer, yeah!!! I have lots of plans and lots to do! Some fun, some not so fun, but I am very excited! I started my week off with a very nice mock triathlon! It was pretty cool, yet pretty draining!

This week was really a week of recovery. After my exciting mock on Monday, I basically took it easy the rest of the week. This week I will get back at it and do a good bit of training. I am totally happy with my training and feel pretty confident that if the triathlon was tomorrow that I could do it! I will just keep plugging away and try to spend most of my efforts on the swimming. On a sad note, this week has been tough as my lovely Aunt Eloise has been struggling and it seems like she is about to go home and be with the Lord. She is so ready and it was so good to be by her side today and just hold her hand and rub her shoulder for a couple of hours. What a blessing she has been to me and my family over the years. She is 85 and soon to be 86 if she makes it a few more days. I LOVE YOU Aunt Eloise and know that you are one special lady! Hope everyone has had a nice week of training!

May 18-May 24

Can you say, summer time? Yeah!! I am officially out of school for the summer. I could not be happier. Out of 14 years of teaching school, I have never been so ready for a school year to come to an end. I am not completely done just yet. I have two teacher work days on Tuesday and Wednesday and then I will be free. All of this being said, I have had another productive week of training. I had a really good swim session on Thursday and I was able to swim 20 laps in less than 30 minutes.

Here are this week's results:

Monday: 4.1 mi/33:20/Easy morning run with some speed coming in. A cold front came in so it was pretty chilly!

Tuesday: 6.2 mi/51:25/Great run with some speed coming in. I was a bit tired at the start, but ended up running further and more hills!

Wednesday: REST

Thursday: SWIM (30 minutes) a.m./20 laps
4 mi/33:14/Nice run where I struggled the first mile and then picked
it up the last 3 miles!

Friday: REST

Saturday: 24 mi(bike)/1:31:04/Nice ride with Bob O. in Buckhead with lots and lots of hills.

Sunday: REST

Weekly Miles: 14.3 miles(run)/24 miles(bike)

** My GPS went to the shop to be fixed on Wednesday, so no cool pictures for this week of my runs/bike routes.**

It feels good be getting back in shape again! Not only that, it is exciting to be able to train for something again. I love competition and I actually enjoy training for something. It gives you something to work towards. It is also exciting to be able to push yourself to heights you have never been. I use to always think that I would run marathons and thats it. Since getting hurt, I have had to find inspiration elsewhere and I think I have find it. Hope everyone is enjoying the 3 day weekend. Happy Memorial Day!

May 11-May 17

Another productive week for me as I approach the final weeks of training for my first triathlon. I started the week off pretty rough, but finished smoothly. I think I may have taken a few steps backwards as far as my swimming is going. I felt very good a couple of weeks ago about the progress that I was making, but then it seems like I missed a couple of swims. Wow, what a difference that must have made because I struggled greatly in my Monday and Friday swim sessions. I am going to probably spend a bit more time in the water this week to try to become a bit more comfortable. As far as the running and biking, I could do the triathlon tomorrow, but the swimming, I don't think so!

Here are this week's results:

Monday: REST

Tuesday: 4.2 mi/35:17/Easy run with no speed, just tried to take it easy after a 4-day break from running!

Wednesday: 4.3 mi/34:47/Nice late run in the evening! Felt great and just took a nice easy stroll!

Thursday: 4.3 mi/36:59/I had a rough start and did not really feel like running, but finished really well.

Friday: REST

Saturday: 21.4 mi(bike ride)/1:38:29/Nice ride in Buckhead for the first time. Lot's of hills with some big down hills as well! On one hill I got up to 40 mph!

Sunday: SWIM (30 minutes)

Weekly Miles: 12.8 miles(run)/21.4 miles(bike)

So, the week was actually not bad. I finished my week on Sunday with a very productive swim. The plan was to swim for 30 minutes, then ride my bike for 30 minutes and finish with a 30 minute run. My swim could not have gone better. Man, I was pretty worried about my swim for the race, but after today, I am excited again. I actually swam the entire 30 minutes with very few stops. Most of the stops were to get the water out of my goggles.

I am hoping for another good week of training as my 2008-2009 school year come to an end. I am so excited that it is summer time! Hope everyone has had a great week. Next weekend will be a 3 day weekend, yippee! Have a great week.

May 4-May 10

This week was a pretty good week of training. I finished my week off with a very good, long, bike ride! I actually felt really good and could have gone further. I was also very happy with my running as I noticed that I am definitely getting some of my speed back. Speed is a good thing, but I also need to try not to go out and run fast every run.

Here are this week's results:

Monday: REST

Tuesday: 4.2 mi/33:55/Whew! I struggled as I got started, but I warmed up rather quickly and had some speed coming in! It was a very humid morning.

Wednesday: 4.1 mi/33:47/Whew! A bit of a struggle the first mile or so and then I got pretty comfortable and finished pretty strong with some speed.

Thursday: 4.2 mi/33:11/The start was a bit of a struggle, but the majority of the run was pretty fast. Good run! I had a good a.m. swim as well!

Friday: REST

Saturday: 30.5 mi/1:57:17/Nice ride with Dan with several hills. After riding with Dan for an hour, I rode another hour to get home solo!

Sunday: REST/Happy Mother's Day MOM!

Weekly Miles: 12.5 miles(run)/30.5 miles(bike)

**Please visit the MotionBased link to see more information about each of my runs this week!**

Hope everyone has a GREAT week of training! Happy Mother's Day to all mom's!
