I went to the Orthopaedic doctor on Tuesday and he greeted me with some good news! Yes, the toe is broken, but the damage is done. No need for a boot, just a little tape. That being said, he released me to run as soon as I felt like it! I was totally amazed as I felt like running after leaving his office.
I chose not to run that day, but I am anxious to run again soon. After speaking with my lovely wife, I think I will wait a few weeks before actually running. I am excited about riding my bike this Saturday, seeing that the doctor gave me permission to do that as well!
My plan is to probably wait for about 3 weeks before running again and in the mean time, just ride my bike as much as possible. Although I feel certain that I can run now, just to be cautious, I will wait. A little REST never hurt anyone and besides, I figure all of the rest can only help my groin injury that I have been dealing with for almost 3 years now.
All that being said, I can't wait to run here in a few weeks and I am so grateful for the good news from the Orthopaedic doctor!

Nothing beats a good run! I’ve been running for over 30 years, and somehow I enjoy it more with every mile. Marathon days are behind me now, but I’m incredibly proud to have completed 14 marathons over the years. These days, my goals have shifted, and I’ve really enjoyed running one half marathon each month — woot! Running 3–4 times a week feels just right. Most importantly, spending time with my wife and my girls, Juliana (16) and Jessa (14), is my greatest priority these days. GR8FL!
